Engaging 3D Motion Graphic Explainer Video: Bringing Complex Ideas to Life
Curtail Security is a Bay Area-based software security company that enables true DevOps, measurably improves software quality and security, and speeds time-to-market. I led the creative initiative to create marketing explainer videos for their product, ReGrade.
Curtail faced significant challenges in selling and promoting its product due to its highly sophisticated technology. Potential clients struggled to understand the product, especially those without a technical background, making it difficult for them to see its value and invest. Curtail realized they needed a visual tool to clearly demonstrate the importance of their product, particularly to company executives and businesses reliant on software for their websites.
We collaborated closely with Curtail’s team over several storyboarding sessions to ensure the messaging was clear and comprehensive. Together, we simplified the script to make it easily understandable for those without a tech background. Once the script was finalized, we transformed the initial storyboard drawings into 3D animations. Using internal resources for the voice-over, we produced the explainer videos.
The videos were a significant success. Curtail’s marketing team emphasized how crucial these videos became during pitch meetings. The initial video was so effective that it led to the creation of an additional video. The success of the video project resulted in the assets becoming the foundation for Curtail’s new design systems. We updated their website to create uniformity between the marketing videos and all other marketing materials.
Launched a new brand campaign for Las Vegas was a monumental task, especially when it meant replacing the iconic "What happens here, stays here" slogan.
