Challenge

As a FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center), Community Health Alliance (CHA) is committed to providing access to quality, affordable healthcare for as many Northern Nevadans as possible.  Despite that mission, only a small percentage of the eligible population were utilizing its services. The marketing team at CHA our team to refine its brand narrative to help increase its relevance and ability to motivate engagements.

Learning

Through a comprehensive discovery and branding process our team worked to uncover the deep-seated needs and challenges facing CHA’s target audience. The barriers to enrollment were identified as both logistical and emotional. Logistical issues included lack of awareness, understanding of CHA’s services and the complexity of getting signed up.  Emotional barriers stemmed from feelings of embarrassment and reluctance to trust healthcare providers and institutions.  

Solution

By reframing CHA’s offerings as the healthcare, the target deserved, and subtly emphasizing that patients would be greeted with compassionate, respectful and the highest quality care, CHA’s brand narrative was revitalized.  The new narrative, delivered with the tagline “Get the health care you deserve,” reassures the potential patients that they will be seen, heard, and understood. In addition, CHA has made operational changes in training its onboarding staff, simplified its onboarding process.

Impact

As the result of these strategic adjustments, the organization saw a 40% increase in patients served, community awareness and the improved perception of CHA as a trusted and supportive healthcare provider.
